The next Nation event is Ice Skating!!! Don your long underwear, long pants, jackets, gloves and skates and join us at Anaheim Ice for an afternoon of ice cold fun. 12:30-3pm. Skating starts at 1pm. This is a family event so bring the brothers and sisters, moms and grandparents. $13 for adults, $10 for children 15 and under. Price is admission and skate rental. Pay at the door. Princess Bead Program
The Hopi tribe embraces the bead program of the YMCA Princesses. For each of the events/tasks completed you and your daughter will receive an appropriate colored bead. Completion of 10 tasks earns you a conjo. Tasks are reported/demonstrated by the princess at your tribal meetings and beads are awarded there. Conjos are awarded to both dad and princess at the next nation campout (induction, big bear, spring camp, catalina, or surf). Below you will find the an list of suggested tasks for each level, you need to only complete 10 of each level. You are not restricted to just activities on this list, if you do something with your princess that you feel fits one of the levels please report it and the appropriate bead will be awarded. If you have any questions feel free to ask. An excel version of the list is available here, print it out and give it to the bead merchant at the next meeting.
Princess Running Pony (Level 1 - Tan Beads)
Tell the story of the headband

Make up your own picture story using Indian symbols, tell the story to
your tribe
Sing “Friends Forever” with Dad in front of the Tribe
Bake cookies and share them with the Tribe
Save a useful article and show it to the Tribe
Plan a family picnic and prepare one dish
Demonstrate the proper use of a knife or hatchet for the Tribe
Learn water safety rules and tell them to the Tribe
Visit a fire or police station
Find fire hazards in the home or garage

Make a birdhouse and feeder. Keep daily records of all birds identified
for one month
Make a picture album about your history with Indian Princesses
Know 5 Nation Tribe names
Make up and practice a fire drill in your home
Have a first aid kit and demonstrate the proper use of everything inside
it to the Tribe
Tell the Tribe how to treat snakebites and tell how to identify
rattlesnakes or other poisonous snakes
Take a 10 mile hike or bike ride with Dad
